Summary: 65 year old male was brutally shot in his home. His injuries resulted in him having to undergo multiple surgeries to rebuild his bones and repair severed nerves. Months after his surgery and physiotherapy, he still had limited movement in his left arm as well as reduced strength in his right overall. Through a referral he resorted to trying CST.
CST sessions
During my assessment I found that besides his injuries, he was extremely frustrated, as a farmer he was always active and hands on. His movement was limited and strength in his hands unequal. During the course of our 12 sessions he experienced gradual improvement in his symptoms. Over time, he also displayed a more positive attitude towards his prognosis.
The progress however was not fast enough for me and I had to remind myself that this was his journey and mine is not to fix but merely to facilitate a space for healing and hold whatever I may find in its space, neutrally and with respect. Our last 3 or so sessions started to show significant results as his mobility significantly improved and the strength in his hands equalised. While not 100% I was grateful that he could get back to being his busy old self again.
I am always humbled by the bodies innate ability to bring itself towards wellbeing and grateful to be part of this remarkable journey.
